PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Possess general knowledge of projects, cases and clients within the practice area they support Receive and screens visitors and telephone calls Maintains calendars for assigned attorney(s) Schedules hearings, depositions, meetings Arranges travel for attorneys Provides documentation production in accordance with the requirements of the assigned attorney Proofreads all documents produced, checking for appropriate formatting, spelling and grammatical errors, as well as ensuring that all attachments, exhibits and enclosures are intact Reviews attorney bills/enters time Interacts with clients as required Opens and screens incoming mail and prepares documents for mailing Performs routine filing, closing files and retrieves closed files when requested Perform other duties as assigned Assist other staff as needed ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:   Knowledge of office practices, procedures, office machines and equipment Possess correct spelling, grammar, vocabulary, communication skills, punctuation and legal terminology Knowledge of content and format of legal documents Ability to read, analyze and understand legal documents Ability to work under pressure Ability to transcribe documents from written, oral or tape transcription format Ability to determine work priorities and seek out help when necessary Must have typing skills of 85 wpm and at least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook Ability to multi-task Ability to file alphabetically and numerically Ability to attend work consistently and maintain a regular work schedule EXPERIENCE: Preferred:    At least 5 or more years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department environment.    EDUCATION: Required:    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Preferred:    2+ years of college or bachelor’s degree
